Lindsey called me this morning at work and said that her contractions were starting, but then by the end of the conversation, decided they weren’t that bad and told me to stay.

A short while later, she calls again and asks if I’ll come home and play with Hadley and just be ready in case. Hadley and I played with Play-Doh and watched part of a movie while Lindsey cleaned the house from top to bottom. Jenna called and said to bring Hadley over so that she could take a nap and we wouldn’t have to worry about her if Linds went into labor.

So we took Hadley over and Lindsey decided it was time to go to the hospital. We got into the room at 12:30pm and the contractions were getting pretty consistent. The nurses were doing their thing and then Lindsey’s water broke. She immediately dilated and the contractions got pretty painful. It wasn’t too much longer before she got the epidural and was feeling much better.

At 2:00pm the doc showed up and Lindsey was ready to push. It only took 20 minutes and Zoey Belle came into the world. She was so beautiful/unhappy. The cries were worth it to finally see our new little girl. At first she looked a lot like Hadley, but then she began to take shape and it appears she looks a little more like Lindsey than me, which is probably a good thing.

Hadley came with Grandma and Papa and seemed to enjoy holding Zoey. I gather this from the fact that she wanted to hold Zoey permanently. Hadley either was happy to see her little sister, or just excited to have Grandma and Papa in town. Either way, she was good with her and laughed when Zoey gave her a kiss.

Zoey ate next and then basically slept the rest of the day. Linds is getting her surgery in the morning and then it’ll be hanging at the hospital for a day or so until we can go home. We are just so grateful to have Zoey here and to know that God has blessed us with the two best girls in the world!
