Missing Mommy

April 23rd, 2008

I came home from work this morning so that Lindsey could go get her haircut. Lately, Hadley has really had separation anxiety toward me and anytime I come home, she wants to hug me and play with me. So, Lindsey leaves and Hadley has a complete mental breakdown. She has been around Lindsey everyday for the past 3 weeks, so she definitely is used to having her mommy around. I busted out the Legos and everything was fine.

Zoey started crying, so I held her on the couch for awhile. Hadley decided this was the best time to get Zoey’s bathtub out of the bath and bring it into the living room. She put her baby on it, got a washcloth, got it wet and then proceeded to give her baby a bath. It was pretty darn cute. Next, I told her she needed to dry her baby off, so she went and got a towel and then did her best to dry off the baby. Just when it couldn’t get any better, Hadley takes out a bottle, sits on the couch next to me, props her arm with a pillow and feeds her baby. What a kid.

The girls brought me McDonald’s for lunch today. It was nice having them stop by and to get to spend some time with them. That and McDonald’s is also a plus. Zoey was fine and let Christina hold her for awhile, but then decided that it was Screamfest 2008. Hadley ate all of her food and enjoyed some gummy bears for dessert.

The evening went fairly smooth. Linds wasn’t feeling great, so Emily and Glenn took Hadley to church and I spent some time with Zoey. She slept on and off in my arms and gave me some smiles. She’s a wonderful baby, although, compared to Hadley, any child is a wonderful baby.
