The Fourth of July

July 4th, 2008

going for a ride Eric was off work today, so that was a nice treat.

Emily and I had made plans to go out for coffee together, and Eric got to stay at home with the girls. They treated him so well. Each girl took turns either having accidents or creating an endless stream of messy diapers. If you don’t know Eric very well, this is not his favorite thing. But he handled it like a champ and said that other than their toileting issues, it was good 1:1 time with them.

We planned a small get together with some friends so the kids could all play together and we could have some fun grilling out. The kids mostly played outside and after lunch ran through the sprinkler. Eric got some phenomenal pictures of the kids.

The girls went down for late naps and then it was time for more crazy fun again. Eric took Hadley to pick out some fireworks because Lloyd and Laura were bringing Emma over so the girls could watch a mini show.

Hadley didn’t really like the loud ones, and Zoey jumped a lot, but never cried. Eric let Hadley do some of the smoke balls, and she thought it was pretty cool. She also really liked sparklers.

The girls had fun playing outside and running off any energy that was left over from the exciting day and we had fun watching them.
